What you will do:

  • Assist the facility’s management in meeting and maintaining North Coast’s commitment to safety by providing a safe workplace for our Associates and to promote North Coast’s safety program
  • Support management’s efforts to ensure compliance with all corporate program expectations and applicable federal and state laws
  • Conduct risk assessments related to tasks performed (Job Safety Analysis) and new equipment introductions
  • Recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures to Branch Leadership, including ergonomics
  • Conduct safety training including PIT operation, Fall Protection, Fire Extinguisher use, Proper Lifting, Heat Related Illness, and other safety related training as needed
  • Conduct and document Incident Investigations involving Motor Vehicle Accidents, Property Damage, and injuries
  • Conduct and document periodic safety inspections inside and outside of building to include but not limited to fire extinguishers, first aid kits, AEDs, access and egress pathways, housekeeping, and over all safety of the warehouse and office
  • Manage the facilities Hazard Communication Program including ensuring proper storage of hazardous materials, labeling, and training of end users
  • Complete various safety related trainings to include but not limited to CPR and First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, Warehouse Safety Certificate Program, PIT Trainer, and Incident Response
  • ​​​​​​​Transport injured Associates to the medical facility and to the drug test location as needed
  • Other duties as assigned


What you will bring:

  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Knowledge of OSHA and DOSH General Industry regulations
  • Clear and concise communication skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams and Outlook
  • Ability to operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PITs) including working from heights
  • Ability to conduct safety training and new hire orientation
  • ​​​​​​​Ability to speak English and Spanish (preferred)
  • ​​​​​​​Ability to qualify as an Authorized Driver for North Coast to transport injured Associates to a medical facility and post-incident drug testing


Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Occasional lifting and pulling objects weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Forklift and stock picker trainer
  • Mix of warehouse and office work environments
  • ​​​​​​​Ability to walk and stand on concrete floors for up to 8 hours per day
  • Frequent computer, phone, and scanner usage
  • Usual 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, however based on business needs evenings and weekend hours may occasionally be required
  • Requires punctual and reliable on-site attendance
