Scope of the Position
The Project Sales & Proposal Specialist is responsible for developing accurate, competitive, and high‑quality project proposals by interpreting electrical specifications, construction drawings, and customer requirements. The role ensures correct costing, compliant product selections, and strong proposal positioning to maximize project win rates. It also supports sales strategy, vendor engagement, and internal coordination. Upon project award, the Specialist facilitates a seamless handoff to Project Contract Managers for execution.
Major Responsibilities
- Prepare high‑quality proposals, RFP/RFQ responses, and commercial offers based on electrical specifications and construction drawings.
- Convert technical requirements into accurate quotations and determine cost‑effective, compliant electrical product options.
- Support sales teams with pricing inputs, technical details, and client presentations to strengthen project win strategies.
- Receive and respond to customer inquiries, clarify requirements, and ensure proposal accuracy.
- Gather technical, operational, and financial details from engineering, operations, and finance teams.
- Build strong relationships with electrical manufacturers and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and increase project opportunities.
- Maintain organized proposal templates, quotation files, version control, and standardized content within company systems.
- Research electrical industry trends, competitor offerings, and new technologies to strengthen proposal positioning.
- Assist in reviewing terms, compliance requirements, and deliverables for project proposals.
- Facilitate smooth transition of awarded projects to Project Contract Managers for execution.
Skills & Qualifications
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for clear, persuasive proposals and client interactions.
- Strong timeline management, prioritization, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Understanding of customer needs, competitive positioning, and value‑added solutioning.
- Ability to interpret specifications, drawings, pricing data, and electrical product requirements.
- Strong understanding of electrical distribution products, power systems, and controls.
- Skilled in MS Office Suite and industry systems (FileMaker, AS400); EIT, CET, PMP, or 3+ years relevant experience preferred.
