The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing new and existing business, fortifying business plans, sales forecast and targets, and ensuring that the strategic development of sales plans and market initiative are executed.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Development and implementation of strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
  • Translate strategic direction into specific objectives for sales and marketing channels and alliance.
  • Meeting with key clients, building and maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
  • Enhance and maintain integrity of Company brand name and build loyalty through the development and implementation of marketing and promotion programs.
  • Conduct market research to determine market requirements and opportunity for new or existing products.  This may also include customer research and competitive information (distributor & vendor) analysis; make recommendations based on findings/opportunities discovered.
  • Develop and establish plans for the introduction of new and existing products in a manner that creates differentiation within the marketplace.
  • Manage and determine level of vendor support required to launch merchandizing, promotional initiatives and programs.
  • Manage, monitor, review and report on the progress, productivity and outcomes of promotional and product introduction activities.
  • Represent the Company at trade association meetings to promote the Company.
  • Deliver sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
  • Meet with key clients, assist sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and
  • closing deals.
  • Prepare periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client
  • base expansion.
  • Aid with revenue projections, reporting, budgeting and forecasting for assigned region
  • Review the branch results vs. objectives and take steps to ensure appropriate measures are taken to
  • correct unsatisfactory results
  • Provide support through ongoing feedback to branch management that will drive merchandizing initiatives and sales within each branch location.
  • Build sustainable relationships that create internal and external synergies that drive company goals.
  • Work with the Corporate Business Group and other creative staff to produce marketing/promotional material.
  • Collaborate and liaise with General and Branch Management, Pricing, Replenishment and Vendor Relation departments to determine logistic and pricing proposition for new products and promotional activities. 
  • Communicate promotional updates and results with vendors.
  • Communicate promotional updates, sales strategies and results to branch and sales staff.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • College/University Diploma required (Business or Marketing related, preferred).
  • Industry knowledge/experience required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
  • Minimum 5-7 years related experience.
  • Additional courses in Sales/Marketing an asset.
