The Buyer is responsible for the timely placement of purchase orders and delivery of materials to meet customer order requirements and maintain stock inventory levels within approved guidelines. As a buyer you will be responsible for:


  • Purchase material for inventory and non-stock items for branches and customer orders.
  • Reviewing purchasing reports to ensure timely purchase of stock using the most economical vendor.
  • Reviewing warehouse transfer reports to ensure timely replensihment of stock.
  • Review and resolve Warehouse Transfer and Purchase Order exceptions, discrepancies and errors.
  • Expedite and follow-up open purchase orders and maintain up to date delivery dates in the system.
  • Follow-up on open warehouse transfers and Purchase Orders 
  • Filing Purchase Orders 
  • Review lost sale and stockout reports and adjust inventory levels where appropriate.
  • Assist with stock rotations as needed.
  • Maintain beneficial vendor relationships.
  • Ensure pricing is current and up to date and communicate to pricing department any changes immediately and assist where necessary. 
  • You bring with you 3 -5 years of relevant experience, post secondary/some college with a focus on logistics and purchasing, strong microsoft Office skills.



  • High school diploma required.  
  • Supply Chain certification, APICS, Operations or other related an asset. 
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office required. 
  • 2-3 years recent, related experience. 
  • Distribution buying for multiple locations an asset.
