Scope of the Position

 

Plans and coordinates warehousing and distribution of transfer replenishment. Includes coordinating purchases, scheduling receiving/shipping within 3rdparty warehouse and branches. Responsible for maintaining inventory levels, managing all freight claims and entering all transfer documentation into the company system.Responsible for the month end exception reports.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Purchase material for inventory and non-stock items for branches and customer orders.
  • Reviewing purchasing reports to ensure timely purchase of stock using the most economical vendor.
  • Reviewing warehouse transfer reports to ensure timely replensihment of stock.
  • Review and resolve Warehouse Transfer and Purchase Order exceptions, discrepancies and errors.
  • Monitor to make sure fax and/or EDI’s go through to the vendor.
  • Expedite and follow-up open purchase orders and maintain up to date delivery dates in the system.
  • Communicate to BM, CSM or Sales Representative unusual or extended delivery dates.
  • Follow-up on open warehouse transfers and Purchase Orders including ones not printed.
  • ICAMM reports will be completed monthly to ensure appriopriate stock controls are in place
  • Review line points / order points and adjust as required any items not picked up on ICAMM report.
  • Maintain communication with BM and CSM’s with respect to inventory changes.
  • Issue PORM’s based on any return requests made.
  • Monitor stages (1 through 7) of PO’s and PORM’s issued.
  • Filing Purchase Orders and PORM’s.
  • Resolve accounting issues for PO’s and PORM’s issued where discrepancies exist.
  • Review lost sale and stockout reports and adjust inventory levels where appropriate.
  • Assist with stock rotations as needed.
  • Maintain beneficial vendor relationships.
  • Ensure pricing is current and up to date and communicate to pricing department any changes immediately and assist where necessary.
  • Advise Senior Buyer of any vendor / departmental issues.
  • Stay current on company and departmental implemented training programs.
  • Ensure company policies are adhered to.
  • To understand and practice specific responsibilities within the Health and Safety program
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Education & Training

 

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Post secondary courses in Purchasing preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.

 

Experience

 

  • Up to 3 years related experience.
