Join Our Team as the Director of Data Governance and Strategy!

 

Are you a data enthusiast with a passion for driving business success through effective governance? We are seeking a strategic leader to join our team as the Director of Data Governance and Strategy. In this pivotal role, you will establish and maintain a robust data governance framework that empowers our enterprise-wide analyst community and ensures the delivery of accurate, actionable data that drives valuable decision making.

 

What You Will Do:

 

  • Data Governance Framework: Develop and implement comprehensive data governance policies that encompass data quality, security, privacy, and compliance. Your expertise will help standardize data management practices across the organization.
  • Collaboration with IT: Work closely with IT and security teams to ensure data integrity and mitigate potential security risks, fostering a secure data environment.
  • Strategic Data Initiatives: Create a clear roadmap for data initiatives that align with our business goals, setting both short-term and long-term objectives to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
  • Power BI Development: Lead the development of Power BI datasets and dashboards, providing training to stakeholders on how to derive meaningful insights from these tools.
  • Analyst Community Leadership: Oversee both direct and indirect oversight of the analyst community, developing certification requirements and tailored training programs to ensure their growth and skill development.
  • Fostering Data Literacy: Promote a culture of data literacy by educating employees on governance policies and best practices, enhancing their understanding of data management.
  • Citizen Development Model: Leverage knowledge of the citizen development model to empower non-technical users to create data solutions, foster innovation and agility within the organization.

What You Bring:

 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Information Management Professional) is preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years in data governance, data management, or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in Power BI solutions. Proven leadership experience managing direct and indirect teams and projects is essential.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of data privacy regulations (NIST, GDPR, CCPA) and excellent project management skills. Familiarity with the citizen development model is highly desirable.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Work Authorization:  Must be a United States Citizen
  • Travel: 25% US nationwide
  • Compensation:  Base salary range is $180,000 - $195,000
