Job Summary

Responsible to assess, lead and provide company-wide health and safety support to associates. Develops health and safety policies, programs, initiatives and objectives; responsible to coordinate safety training programs. Monitors health and safety regulations and provides support associates and leaders to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.

 

Key Reponsbilities

  • Develop strategic safety plans and initiatives to support the overall business strategy.
  • Develop annual Company health and safety goals with corresponding metrics to measure success in conjunction with SUSA Safety and Risk team
  • Prepare written health and safety programs and policies; communicate edits and adequately train managers and associates
  • Develops, and assess safety course materials, and provides updates and improvements to such material
  • Conduct follow-up studies of all completed safety training to evaluate and measure results.
  • Support leaders in identifying and selecting proper personal protective equipment
  • Conduct quarterly branch inspections; provide a post-inspection findings report, working with affected managers to resolve identified issues
  • Conduct post-incident investigations as needed, and provide a summary of findings with recommended action
  • Monitor lost-time injuries/illnesses and worker’s compensation claims
  • Monitor auto incidents and claims
  • Partner with Sustainability Manager to develop sustainability best practices and complete initiatives per QED expectations
  • Understand State and Federal occupation health and safety regulations as well as DOT and FMCSA compliance; monitoring regulatory changes as they occur.
  • Develop and maintain tracking and reporting systems for all safety training to ensure accurate recordkeeping in a timely manner
  • Enforce all QED, and Sonepar, safety requirements and policies
  • Conducts annual safety needs assessment
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned

 

Minimum work experience requirements:

  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and with little supervision
  • Must demonstrate good time management skills
  • Must possess strong planning, organizational and execution skills
  • Must possess strong computer skills, database management and record keeping for multiple locations
  • Must have the ability to set goals and meet deadlines
  • Must demonstrate ownership of assigned responsibilities and ability to get the job done correctly and in a timely manner

 

Minimum education requirements:

  • Electrical, Industrial and/or distribution experience preferred but not required
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A or B.S.) from a 4-year college or University; or
  • 3 - 5 years' of related experience and/or training preferred; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Salary Range: $75,000 - 80,000

Starting Salary: $75,000
