The Production Supervisor provides guidance and leadership to the Production Team for the effective and efficient processing of shipping orders.   The Supervisor facilitates communication with internal and external customers while placing major emphasis on accuracy, quality, and process control to ensure strict adherence to customer and company specified standards.     

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize cutting orders based on instructions indicated on picking tickets (review for multiple cuts, special instructions, ext) and understand how the order is processed from the time the product is received to the time it is shipped. Monitor various areas for ticket flow (Pick n Pack, Shipping, and Parallels)
  • Monitor Pickers to ensure reels are readily available for cutters
  • Communicate with various departments (by email, or telephone)
  • Resolve any problems or concerns that may occur with staff or equipment
  • Conducts Daily Shifts Meetings
  • Ensure that the warehouse keeps safety as a top priority in creating and enforcing procedures.
  • Provide training to all warehouse staff in conjunction with the Warehouse Manager.
  • Keep Warehouse Manager informed on key problems on a regular basis.
  • Utilizes warehouse staff to the appropriate work areas to support workloads
  • Directly manage the flow of orders to be sure the right material is readily available to cutters, as to meet our customer commitments
  • Manage the day-to-day flow of orders to be sure we are maximizing the productivity of our head count.
  • Performs other related duties as needed
  • Lifts on a regular and frequent basis packages weighing 50 pounds
  • Maintains all work areas in a neat, clean and orderly manner always

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be flexible to work overtime, and deal with varying tasks
  • Customer Relationship Experience (Internal/External)
  • Previous Warehouse Experience an asset
  • Solid teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrates continuous improvements to performance
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
