PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the counter sales and service activities; warehouse activities including storing, handling, and inventory control of all materials; safe and efficient delivery activities; and the maintenance of all equipment and trucks.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Team Leadership

  • Directs and coordinates counter sales, warehouse, and delivery functions to assure that they efficiently and effectively provide services required in a manner that promotes quality customer service.
  • Develops direct staff through training and performance management initiatives.
  • Participates in recruitment and selection processes as necessary.

Warehouse & Delivery Operations Management

  • Manages the movement of products into and out of inventory. 
  • Approves all modifications to inventory. 
  • Coordinates inventory audit process.

Order Fulfillment & Support

  • Coordinates vendor returns.
  • Controls defective merchandise and returns in order to reduce related inventory costs.
  • Coordinates product displays and promotional materials in the counter sales area.
  • Maintains a strong knowledge of all products sold.

Customer Service

  • Provides courteous, prompt, efficient and accurate service to our customers.

Financial Management

  • Evaluates and monitors staffing requirements in accordance with budgetary guidelines and controls including payroll expenditures related to overtime.

Team Orientation

  • Establishes and maintains close, cooperative and effective relationships with sales, & purchasing functions as well as all staff.
  • Performs duties of Counter Sales, Warehouse Associate and Truck Driver as needed and in accordance with the guidelines established each positions job description.

Merchandising & Warehouse Maintenance

  • Assists in maintaining the counter and product display area assuring a safe, clean and orderly environment. Assembles and stocks product displays and shelves and prepares customer refreshments.
  • Assists in warehouse duties such as stocking and labeling shelves, inventory of goods, etc. in a manner which assures an orderly and safe work environment
  • .Creates and maintains a positive working relationship with all staff throughout the organization.

Safety & Compliance

  • Responsible for overall branch facility security and building management.  Coordinates facility maintenance and repair activity as necessary.

 

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs other duties as assigned or required to successfully complete the job.

 

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree in business or related field or equivalent on the job experience as determined by Springfield Electric.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in warehouse, counter sales and/or delivery operations, preferably in the electrical distribution industry.
  • Demonstrated customer relationship building and maintenance skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal formats.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to plan and schedule the work of others.
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills, including an ability to plan and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proven proficiency in general personal computer application, as well as in the use of Microsoft Office software, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.

 

PHYSICAL ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to utilize a computer keyboard, computer monitor, adding machine, and telephone for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to climb stairs daily and to occasionally climb a ladder and step stool.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and otherwise transport work-related materials that frequently weigh up to 75 lbs. and that may occasionally weigh in excess of 75 lbs.
