Job Summary
We’re seeking a results-driven Assistant Branch Manager to help lead warehouse operations and drive performance for our Azle, Granbury, Seymour and Keller, TX locations. In this role, you’ll support branch leadership, coach team members, and implement process improvements that boost efficiency and service. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for overseeing the overall performance and operational compliance of respective facility and team.
- Support and assist Branch Management with analyzing daily reports, productivity metrics, quality assurance reviews, and operational audits to understand and resolve local issues.
- Assist the Branch Management in communicating expectations and goals to field teams and individual associates; provide coaching and appropriate follow-up.
- May assume direct managerial responsibilities over a defined team under the branch structure, including interviewing, hiring, training, and performance management.
- Drive operational effectiveness and productivity by developing procedures, implementing processes, and leading direct reports accordingly.
- Collaborate with the Purchasing Team to monitor inventory levels and prepare inventory reports, reserve inventory, construct replenishment plans, and otherwise take action to ensure stock levels are optimized.
- Engage logistics teams with training and development opportunities to drive short- and long-term strategic goals.
- Manage various special projects and analyze productivity metrics in order to identify common issues and trends.
- Organize transportation logistics including scheduling of deliveries, establishing delivery routes, and selecting the most appropriate method for delivery to meet customer service objectives while utilizing company owned vehicles and drivers, parcel carriers (UPS and Fedex) and LTL carriers as required to meet customer service objectives and minimize total delivery costs.
- Lead cross functional branch team to educate branch on quality concerns and resolve errors. Monitor error rates and customer complaints and develop and implement solutions to improve performance.
- Inspect physical condition of warehouse and equipment. Prepare work order for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment.
- Confer with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as production, sales, and purchasing.
- Transmit administrative information, policies and procedures, decisions, changes, etc. to subordinates.
- Compile and prepare reports for Branch management regarding area operations and financial matters.
- Manage property control system; assignment of numbers, tags and ensures appropriate documentation of location, description and other data.
- Maintain inventory levels; purchases equipment, materials, furniture or other supplies in accordance with budget and priorities; works with appropriate staff and vendors to obtain required items and resolves questions or conflicts.
- Determine disposition of used or damaged property and handle accordingly.
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong problem-solving skills to address customer issues.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Process driven, detail oriented, and effective time management.
- Time management
- Excellent interpersonal and team management skills.
- Proficiency in using MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
