Sonepar is seeking a strategic and hands-on Manager of Security Engineering to lead a high-performing team across the Americas region. This role is critical to ensuring our infrastructure, cloud platforms, and applications are secure, scalable, and compliant with global standards. This role is based in our Hamilton, New Jersey office.
What You’ll Do:
- Strategic Security Planning: Shape long-term security strategy and influence digital enterprise roadmaps.
- Security Engineering & Architecture: Design and manage scalable security solutions (EDR, SIEM, Firewalls, etc.) aligned with business risk.
- Security Integration & Automation: Embed security into infrastructure and development workflows using automation tools.
- Leadership & Development: Build and mentor a team of engineers, define KPIs, and foster a culture of continuous learning.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
- Authorized to work in the United States without VISA sponsorship now or in the future
- 5+ years in information security, including 2+ years in a people management/leadership role
- Proven experience in secure IT systems and cloud environments
- Strong knowledge of compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, PCI DSS)
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible)
- Expertise in cloud security (Azure, AWS, GCP) and secure software development
- Familiarity with security tools (SIEM, EDR, Vulnerability Management, PAM)
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to travel up to 20%
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: CISSP, CISM
- Experience in regulated industries (healthcare, finance, government)
- Executive-level presentation and advocacy skills
- Understanding of legal and contractual aspects of security and privacy
