World Electric is hiring an Inventory Control Supervisor to join our team 

 

The World Electric Inventory Control Supervisor will facilitate the inventory and quality control programs within the RDC. Inventory control consists of cycle counts of merchandise, completing recalls of discontinued or defective merchandise and proper merchandising of the DC through analysis of sales, size, weight, and category.  Quality control consists of various quality checks throughout the DC processes from checking outbound order selection, returns accuracy, shipping accuracy and inbound receiving and put-away accuracy. The successful candidate will have the desire to work in a fast-past, organized, and positive warehouse environment. 

 

Responsibilities 

The responsibilities listed below are encompassing of an Inventory Control Supervisor, but not limited to these areas: 

  • Analyze receiving, shipping, returns discrepancies. 

  • Provide tools/techniques to improve quality and efficiency of the DC processes. 

  • Provide RDC leadership team KPIs regarding the quality of the DC operations. 

  • Help identify and correct potential inventory problems. 

  • Design and execute various plans to ensure inventory accuracy with the DC such as cycle count programs and quality audits. 

  • Monitor the effectiveness of DC IC/QC associates and coach as needed.  

  • Implement succession planning for self and other critical roles on the team. 

  • Communicate with branch manager, regional manager etc. to resolve various issues such as shipping concerns, store inventory issues, and both DC and store procedural guidelines. 

  • Maintain and adjust merchandise layout of the DC to help operations produce quality and efficient workload management. 

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment. 

  • Perform maintenance and housekeeping duties. 

  • Perform other job-related duties, as needed. 
     

Skills/Requirements: 

  • Good communication skills 

  • Computer literacy skills 

  • Ability to work well with others is essential. 

  • Works well with limited supervision. 

  • Ability to operate powered industrial trucks (PIT) such as pallet jacks, forklifts, order pickers, and reach trucks.  

  • Strong math skills. 

  • Knowledge of warehouse technology including the use of RF guns and warehouse inventory software.  

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks. 

  • Exercises safety in all aspects of carrying out job responsibilities. 

  • Use of personal protective equipment (i.e. safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed or composite shoes) as required for the assigned work area. 

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a highly preferred.

 

Required Experience 

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of Inventory Control experience. Experience managing hourly Associates is preferred. 

 

Physical Demands & Work Environment 

The below characteristics are representative of those typically encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  

 

Physical Demands:   

The ability to remain in a stationary position roughly 50% of the time, as well as the ability to move about the office and storage facility is required. Using a computer while sitting and standing for extended periods is common. 

Continuous mental and visual alertness to maintain safety and achieve accuracy.  Requires flexibility and mobility in body movements.  Frequently requires standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching with arms, and constant use of hands.  Must also be able to lift and move incoming materials when necessary. 


Work Environment: 

The warehouse consists primarily of rows of large upright racks on a hard surface flooring.  Most work is performed on pallet jacks, forklifts, and order pickers.  The RDC will have climate control features to account for seasonal weather with an emphasis on sustainability.
