World Electric is hiring a Shipping Supervisor to join our team 

The World Electric Shipping Supervisor will facilitate moving product throughout the warehouse through the use of equipment in areas such as Receiving, Stocking, Shipping, Order Processing and Replenishment. Responsibilities will include operating equipment in a safe manner, while maintaining a safe and clean working area and ensuring that our product is in perfect condition and ready for our customers. The successful candidate will have the desire to work in a fast-past, organized, and positive warehouse environment. 

Responsibilities 

The responsibilities listed below are encompassing of a Warehouse Supervisor, but not limited to these areas: 

• Ensure associates are appropriately trained in all aspects of the warehouse and quality control. 

• Balance staffing needs while fulfilling customer orders. 

• Motivate employees to meet productivity goals and efficiency goals. 

• Determine staffing needs, schedule personnel, and assign job duties. 

• Interview, hire, and train new associates. 

• Implement succession planning for self and other critical roles on the team. 

• Able to complete all necessary duties within the RDC including: 

• Receiving duties 

• Picker/Packer Duties 

• Loading Duties 

• Wire Cutting 

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment. 

• Perform maintenance and housekeeping duties. 

Skills/Requirements: 

• Ability to operate powered industrial trucks (PIT) such as pallet jacks, forklifts, order pickers, and reach trucks.  

• Ability to add and subtract units of measure, using whole numbers. 

• Knowledge of warehouse technology including the use of RF guns and warehouse inventory software.  

• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks. 

• Exercises safety in all aspects of carrying out job responsibilities. 

• Use of personal protective equipment (i.e. safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed or composite shoes) as required for the assigned work area. 

• Frequently lift products of varying weights up to 50lbs. 
   

Required Experience 

• High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Demands & Work Environment 

The below characteristics are representative of those typically encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  

Physical Demands:   

Continuous mental and visual alertness to maintain safety and achieve accuracy.  Requires flexibility and mobility in body movements.  Frequently requires standing, walking, lifting up to 50lbs., bending, climbing, reaching with arms, and constant use of hands.  Occasionally, may be required to lift items greater than 50lbs with assistance.  

Work Environment: 

The warehouse consists primarily of rows of large upright racks on a hard surface flooring.  Most work is performed on pallet jacks, forklifts, and order pickers.  Working temperatures can fluctuate depending on seasonal weather.
