The Vice President of Finance is a member of the executive leadership team and serves as a key business partner to the President and senior leaders. This role provides strategic and operational financial leadership, supporting performance, profitability, and disciplined growth for a dynamic, growth‑oriented operating company within a leading global distribution organization.

 

The Vice President of Finance plays a critical role in shaping financial strategy, strengthening operational and financial controls, and supporting investments that enable expansion across branches, distribution centers, and strategic initiatives.

 

 

What you will do:

 

Strategic & Business Leadership

  • Serve as a trusted financial advisor to the executive team, providing insight, analysis, and recommendations that improve business performance (operational excellence, margin improvement)
  • Lead financial evaluation of strategic initiatives, including new locations, expansions, capital investments, contracts, agreements, and complex business decisions and acquisitions

 

Financial Planning & Performance Management

  • Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes at company and branch levels
  • Deliver accurate, timely financial reporting, dashboards, and management commentary
  • Analyze trends, risks, and opportunities, clearly communicating implications to leadership
  • Support enterprise FP&A requirements and regional financial reporting

 

Controls, Risk & Governance

  • Ensure a strong internal control framework and compliance with enterprise policies
  • Manage working capital, including accounts receivable and inventory risk
  • Collaborate closely with shared services and corporate finance partners (Tax, Treasury, Risk, M&A)

 

Finance Operations & Team Leadership

  • Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing finance and credit organization
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and partnership
  • Operate effectively in a matrixed environment with dual reporting relationships

 

 

What you bring:

 

  • 10+ years of progressive financial and people leadership experience; distribution or industrial environment strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA a plus
  • Proven executive presence with the ability to influence and partner across functions
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and strategic thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation capabilities
  • Experience working within complex, multi‑location or matrixed organizations
  • ERP expertise required (distribution systems preferred)
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
