Irby is searching for a goal-oriented and customer driven individual to join our fast-paced team.  In this role, you will work in a bright, clean, and safe environment. You will supply our valued customers with the necessary items they need to grow their business every day. You will thrive off a high-energy environment with dedicated team members who get the job done. We have a positive reputation for taking care of the details, complete and accurate packages, and exceptional service. The responsibility of this role is to perform manual and clerical duties that may include receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing, and retrieving stock in the warehouse.  May also deliver a variety of materials, equipment and supplies as needed. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Load, unload, and move materials within or near work site. 
  • Moves materials from storage or work sites to designated area per Sales Ticket. 
  • Packages merchandise for shipment by common carrier. 
  • Attaches identifying tag or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers. 
  • Fabricates and installs racks and shelving as required. 
  • Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move stock or reorganize storage. 
  • Keeps records of storeroom inventory.  
  • Participates in ordering or purchasing standard stock items, such as recommending additions or deletions to standard stock items or ordering replenishments within established procedures and limits.  
  • Be courteous in all contact with company customers. 
  • Assist in keeping all work areas clean. 

 

 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred. 
  • Class B License required. 
  • Knowledge of safety practices. 
  • Skill in lifting heavy packages and objects. 
  • Skill in operating forklift or other materials handling equipment. 
  • Skill in operating large vehicles in tight and congested areas. 
  • Knowledge of automated or computerized system operation. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate. 
  • Customer focused and team oriented.
