Responsibilities

 

Position Purpose:

Assist with commercial prefabrication projects and perform Quality Control/Assurance tasks to ensure customer specifications are met and that wiring diagrams, schematics, work orders and finished good assemblies are properly built and packaged. Work with Department Supervisor, Shop Lead and Assemblers/Technicians to improve the quality of internal processes, workmanship and issue resolution. Assist the production team in meeting customer schedules for all projects.

 

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with Dept Supervisor to effectively oversee QC processes.
  • Assist the production team with various phases of assemblies, including review of build sheets, diagrams, schematics, technical drawings, etc at onset of build to ensure understanding and expectations.
  • Assist the production team with packaging and shipment preparation, including designing solutions for the safe and effective packaging of finished good materials of various sizes and types.
  • Follow established procedures for shop inventory accuracy and system processes related to material exchanges between RPRE (shop) and CDC.
  • Manage small projects and/or teams to complete tasks.
  • Ensure Quality Assurance and Quality Compliance throughout the project timeline, to include stability and reliability of finished goods on an ongoing basis.
  • Provide shop Safety guidance and ensure adherence by production team of existing safety protocols.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Electrical field experience (Journeyman).
  • No vision hindrances in relation to color (not color-blind).
  • Ability to read/learn various manufacturing drawing types, i.e. schematics, layouts, diagrams, etc.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Effectively respond to and interact with all levels of organization, customers & vendors. Competencies include excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Efficient use of hand tools.
  • Safely and effectively use powered industrial trucks and powered shop equipment.

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

Education/Experience:

  • High-school education or equivalent / relevant work experience

 

Recommended Experience:

  • Warehousing Experience
  • Basic Electrical/ Mechanical theory knowledge
  • Use of Hand Tools and Electrical DVM
  • Computing skills; Windows, Microsoft Office, etc
  • Able to effectively communicate verbally and in written form

 

 

Environment

 

 

  • Workload and job requirements will vary based upon opportunities and deadlines.  Position will require flexibility based upon schedule demands.
  • Position will be based in Katy, TX inside the CDC facility.
  • Reports to Department Supervisor
  • Will work closely with Director of Operations, Crawford Branch Managers and Sales Representatives.
  • Position requires organizational and analytical skills and the ability to document and produce best-practices procedures.
  • Ability to understand management & client needs and translate these needs to team.
  • Ability to self-manage responsibilities with minimal supervision is required.
