Crawford is currently seeking a Transportation Supervisor to join their Transportation team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise activities of the transportation department, dispatch and delivery personnel. Engaged in identifying & routing daily loads, share in the review of loading/unloading, and transporting of merchandise.
  • Supervise the drivers/dispatch pertaining to outgoing shipment activity. Work with sales and sales support & personnel to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely customer service.
  • Supervise order routing process and inspect loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications, security, and direct movement of shipments.
  • Supervise and track maintenance on all equipment (trucks) and suggest/purchase trucking supplies or PPE needed.
  • Review productivity standards for the logistics operation and monitor standards through productivity reporting, performance reporting, and status reporting.
  • Supervise all delivery/dispatch personnel including, but not limited to staffing recommendations, training, evaluating, monitoring, rewarding, disciplining, and succession planning.
  • Train all delivery personnel on applicable business systems, including the use of the system features to improve accuracy and efficiency of all assigned processes. (Innovo Routing)
  • Maintain security of merchandise and equipment
  • Supervise and maintain safety standards for all delivery & dispatch personnel.
  • Supervise all delivery loss prevention programs.
  • Optimize Route Schedule to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Review and approve associates time keeping, managing hours and overtime.
  • Improve processes and procedures as seen fit while in the role.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • College degree with 2 years or more related experience and/or training
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required.
  • PIT proficiency, driving proficiency, and Transportation Safety experience are pluses.
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery/trucks and handling product.
  • Ability to lift to 70 pounds.
  • Safety Minded, Service oriented, Customer first attitude.
  • Listens well, Supportive and acts as transportation liaison to Managers and Sales team.
  • Ability to gain respect of associates by actively leading team in daily operations.
  • Teach or ability to train employees.
  • Excel proficiency – ability to manipulate data and perform basic calculator/formula functions.
  • Ability to learn Eclipse system.

 

 

  • Experience in Innovo Routing (or similar routing system) is a plus.
  • Problem solver, change management supporter.
  • Ability to develop other team members.

 

ENVIRONMENT

 

  • Long and varied hours are required occasionally.
  • Ability to work mandatory physical inventory.
  • Ability to work in extreme hot or cold environment.
  • Ability to work in semi-dusty conditions.
