  • Responsibilities

    Join Crawford Electric Supply as a Vertical Lift Modula (VLM) Specialist. As a VLM Specialist you will be responsible for handling materials including replenishing and providing stock for incoming orders. You will also maintain the Vertical Lift Modula to ensure the system accurately picks orders and works efficiently. Customers are always our priority, so your goal will be to meet and exceed customer expectations with each shipment.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO: 

    • Utilizing automated barcode scanning equipment - picks parts from the Vertical Lift Modula and places them onto the outbound lanes.
    • Verifies that parts being picked match order items in part number, quantity, and quality and that VLM procedures are being followed.
    • Picks parts in a neat and orderly manner in order to prevent damages during the process.
    • Maintain the VLM to ensure it runs efficiently including inspections. Resolve errors in the system or system software with assistance from vendor support.
    • Reach established daily production goals.
    • Establish a safe working environment for all associates in the warehouse.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

     

    • At least 6 months of experience in a warehouse or distribution environment
    • Must be able to maintain a safe working environment
    • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Able to prioritize tasks to best fit customer and company needs
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Work in dusty and dirty conditions; handle and store hazardous materials; clean and maintain a safe working environment
    • Operate Forklift, equipment such as pallet jacks

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS AND DETAILS: 

    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, unassisted.
    • Must be able to frequently walk and stand (up to 100% of shift).
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
    • Climb ladders, squatting, and bending.
    • Typical environment is a general warehouse environment; but may include offices, light industrial, commercial, utility and manufacturing. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Will include outdoor work exposed to elements and non-conditioned warehouse spaces.
