Service Technician - (VFD or Drive) Rockwell

Reporting to the Vice President of Industrial Sales and Automation, the Service Technician is responsible for providing on-site services that support customer manufacturing operations. Specifically, services related to starting up VFD (Variable Speed ​​Drive - commonly known as a "Drive") products from Rockwell Automation.

You are: Autonomous, curious, agile in change, communicator, organized, analytical and solution-oriented.

You have: 

• A diploma (DEC) in electrodynamic technique or equivalent training.
• An understanding of safe work practices in an industrial environment, including the use of personal protective equipment as needed.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
• An ability to work independently, learn quickly and adapt to change
• Experience with industrial control systems including PLC, HMI / SCADA, motor control, motion control system, etc., technology and applications (Rockwell or comparable platforms)
• Excellent knowledge of Office 365
• 2 years of practical experience in an industrial manufacturing environment (an asset)

You will : 

Technical

• Perform documented on-site procedures at customer facilities
• Promote the various services of Lumen and Rockwell Automation
• Demonstrate basic skills around Rockwell Automation products and associated manufacturing technologies
  • Physical inspection and verification of proper installation practices for VFDs and motors before applying power
  • Verification of the external control wiring is done appropriately at the VFD input and output connection points
  • Confirmation of the wiring of the VFD to the motor, power supply and isolation transformer (applicable)
  • Adjustment of operating parameters within the design limits of the VFD and motor and appropriate for the application
  • Performing appropriate performance checks of the VFD within a speed interval
  • Programming of network parameters in the VFD (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet) (i.e. Program IP address for Ethernet)

Commercial

• Act as a representative of Lumen when providing services on critical customer equipment and applications.
• Work with clients to determine client issues, needs and goals and thus present conclusions to clients
• Identify product and service opportunities that may be outside of the initial commitments.
• Develop relationships with the client's main stakeholders
• Articulate the value of service offerings to customers during the engagement lifecycle
• Document work activities with professional reports
• All other related tasks.

Displacement:

50% - 75% is required and within 2 hours.
