Job Summary
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the direct management and handling of all warehousing and distribution functions at the organization's warehouse facilities. This includes accountability for inbound and outbound freight, as well as adherence to legislative, safety, and organizational policies and procedures. The Warehouse Manager will accomplish effective logistical oversight through strong leadership and decision-making skills. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of the organization. It is expected that the employee demonstrates behaviour consistent with our core values and supports our strategic plan.
Job Duties

Day to day operational management and direction of our warehouse and delivery team.

Continual review and improvement of processes and procedures related to material movement, in collaboration with sales and purchasing management.

Plan warehouse layout and space requirements in order to improve the efficiency and effective flow of inventory, accuracy of customer shipments and inventory levels and to achieve full warehouse optimization.

Manage an annual maintenance budget and assist with a capital investment plan for warehousing functions and premises and fleet maintenance across the Windsor operation.
-
Supervise a team of warehouse employees, including hiring, delegation, training, coaching, performance evaluation and disciplinary actions.
-
Analyse departmental operations, identify areas requiring improvement and implement appropriate operational changes, as mutually agreed upon.
-
Maintain appropriate and complete documentation regarding regulated products and hazardous materials.
-
Coordinate activities by setting priorities, scheduling & delegating work assignments accordingly.
-
Develop strategic performance metrics and targets that are consistent with company goals.
-
Ensure employees have clear goals and are aware of expectations.
-
Ensure that all employees comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
-
Handle internal and external customer complaints and comments as related to warehouse and delivery operations.

Translate strategic goals into practical actions.

Requirements

University degree in business, with a focus on manufacturing, warehousing, transportation, supply chain management, inventory control, or materials management, preferred
-
(5) years of direct work experience in a warehouse management function or supply chain management position.

Direct working knowledge of operations, warehouse management, and transportation management.
-
Direct knowledge of WHMIS and other safety systems.
-
Familiar with enterprise-level track-and-trace systems, as well as implementation experience.
-
Experience with radio frequency ID systems (RFID), bar code systems, and electronic data interchange (EDI) may be required.
-
Strong knowledge of Epicor Eclipse, as well as Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Experience in managing third-party logistics providers.
-
Strong knowledge of warehouse documentation, with good writing skills.
-
Ability to interpret and act upon complex instructions.
-
Solid project management skills are essential.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good financial and business awareness.

Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and its executive team.
