The Cash Analyst role involves comparing bank statements with each operating companies’ financial records to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies. This requires meticulous attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to resolve financial inconsistencies. The role includes preparing reconciliation reports, investigating variances, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

 

What you will do:

  • Match activity in bank statements to activity in the general ledger utilizing a reconciliation tool.  
  • Compare and consolidate ending bank account GL balances with outstanding reconciling items and identify and resolve discrepancies. Post journal entries as necessary.  
  • Prepare month end summary of outstanding checks, clear checks as necessary, perform reclassifications in the general ledger, and inquire and/or research aging items.  
  • Address aging reconciling items between the bank and financial records with our operating company finance teams, IT, cash application team, and other members of the accounting department.
  • Positive Pay monitoring and validation and Stop Payment requests within the bank website

 

What you will bring: 

  • 2-year degree from a college or university with a finance, accounting, or similar focus, or; 1-3 of relevant work experience in a finance related role, i.e. cash application, receivable management, account payables, accounting analyst.
  • Previous experience in bank reconciliation or similar accounting role.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and strong Microsoft Excel.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality
