Summary
Performs warehouse duties related to receiving, storing, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control. Provides guidance and training to warehouse associates while supporting safe, accurate, and efficient operations.
Essential Functions
- Load, unload, move, store, and ship materials and products.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment.
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments and complete required documentation.
- Operate forklifts, hoists, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Maintain product organization and inventory accuracy.
- Count, weigh, and verify materials against orders, invoices, and shipping documents.
- Assist with hazardous material handling and documentation requirements.
- Provide training and guidance to warehouse associates.
- Assist with stock replenishment and communicate low inventory levels.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 2-4 years of related warehouse experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current Forklift Operation Certification required.
- Working knowledge of QED computer systems, Microsoft Office, Eclipse, or related systems.
- Must be a team player and uphold QED's core values.
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required
Through previous background and experience, the candidate must be able to demonstrate, with or without an accommodation:
- Knowledge of automated or computerized system operation.
- Knowledge of record keeping practices.
- Knowledge of safety practices, and wears PPE as assigned.
- Skill in lifting heavy packages and objects.
- Skill in operating wire and cable cutting equipment, reels, machines, and cable cutters.
- Skill in operating forklift or other material handling equipment.
- Skill in operating large vehicles in tight and congested areas.
- Ability to effectively communicate.
- Skill in using various hand tools used in preparing, reeling, and cutting wire and cable, i.e. hammers, nails, ropes, tape, plastic and cable termination seals.
- Must be forklift certified.
- Knowledge of cargo securement techniques, chains, binders, straps, ropes, knots, plastic wrap and cargo dunnage used.
- Strong mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, including fractions and decimals.
