Category Manager for Lighting

Location: Minneapolis/St. Paul

Job type: Full time

Schedule: Standard Daytime hours, Monday-Friday

Salary: $83,000 - $120,000

*Compensation for this position includes annual salary, 20% short-term incentive bonus, and full benefits package offerings. The exact amount of base salary may vary based on experience and skills brought to the role as well as the geographic location of the role.

 

 

What You’ll Do

Build strategic market vision by defining vendor strategy, including vendor alignment and product portfolio, while maximizing profitability for Viking Electric. Also, proactively engage with sales to educate sellers and customers around category products while listening to sellers and customers to understand and adapt to changing market trends.

You will…

  • Engage with Viking Electric Sellers, Specialists, and Customers to share knowledge and learn market trends. This includes leading business planning and coordinating training.
  • Define your own vendor strategy and product offering that maximizes profitability (GMROI)
  • Execute your strategy by partnering with:
      • marketing to promote category products and services
      • Supply chain team to optimize inventory
      • Pricing team

 

What You Bring

Requirements:

  • Experience with product management or customer facing sales roles with a strong emphasis on applicable product category
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without VISA sponsorship now or in the future
