Location: Viking Electric Geography (Travel Required)
Job type: Full time
Schedule: Office Hours, Monday - Friday
Base Salary: $58,000 - $87,500
**Compensation for this position includes base salary, short-term incentive bonus, and full benefits package offerings. The exact amount of base salary may vary based on experience and skills brought to the role.

We’re looking for a Safety Development Specialist to lead and deliver impactful safety and transportation training across our distribution and driver operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our associates operate safely, confidently, and in compliance with regulatory standards.
What You’ll Do
As a Safety Development Specialist, you’ll serve as a subject matter expert and trusted partner to operations and leadership by:
- Developing and delivering powered industrial equipment (PIT) safety training in compliance with OSHA standards, including hands-on instruction and evaluation
- Leading driver safety and training programs in alignment with FMCSA and DOT regulations, including classroom instruction, ride-alongs, and on-the-road coaching
- Creating, updating, and supporting safety policies, procedures, and training materials
- Managing annual training requirements and compliance initiatives across the organization
- Coaching leaders and associates to reinforce safe behaviors and best practices
- Traveling to Viking Electric locations to support training and safety initiatives (up to 25%)
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of experience developing and delivering safety training programs
- Hands-on experience conducting equipment and driver safety training
- Experience writing or updating safety policies, SOPs, or training materials
- Familiarity with OSHA, FMCSA, and DOT regulations (or strong ability to learn)
- Experience in commercial driving, fleet operations, or DOT-regulated environments preferred
- Ability to facilitate training in both classroom and virtual settings
- Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail
Education & Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Certification to conduct safe driver training (or willingness to obtain)
