Field Service Engineer

Location: Mobile, AL

Job type: Full time

What You’ll Do

A professional who specializes in automation control systems. This position requires experience in debug and/or maintenance of Rockwell Automation Logix processors, HMIs, and Variable Frequency Drives

Focus Areas:

Rockwell ASP (Authorized Service Provider) - Training and Delivery

- Installed Base Evaluation (IBE)
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- Network Assessments (Standard, Vulnerability Discovery)
- Drive Validation (DSU)

Crawford Electric Supply Service - Training and Delivery

- Thermography/IR Study
- Pneumatic Leak Detection
- Capacitor Reforming
- Hardware Migration Planning
- PLC Programming/Debug
- HMI Screen Development
- Drive Tuning and Testing
- Electrical Schematics and Panel Drawings (AutoCAD)
- Panel Build
- Machine Wiring

Identification of Service Opportunities and Quote assistance

- Assist services team for Proposal Creation (scope, labor & travel estimates)
- Assist with Technical Readouts on customer information/data
- Assist in Commercial Activity/consulting: (engage sales team, be proactive with idle time)

Other Requirements:

Required travel to specific job sites, 70% travel with overnight hotel stay(s)
Provide delivery for Rockwell and Crawford Electric field services
Work independently at customer facilities.
Adhere to safe work practices
Complete job-related documentation (activity logs, trip reports, safety assessments, etc)
Be a technical resource for the sales force

What You Bring

Engineering degree (Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent experience in engineering/plant maintenance role
5+ years’ experience in automation control systems
Rockwell Automation Logix software experience (programming/troubleshooting/debug)
Variable Frequency Drive experience
Ability to read/interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics
Panel building experience
Industrial machinery wiring experience
