Distribution Operations Manager

Lead one of Irby Utilities’ largest distribution operations

Irby Utilities is looking for an experienced distribution leader to take ownership of a large, high-volume operation serving the electric utility industry.

This is not a position focused on maintaining the status quo. We need a leader who can build a strong team, establish clear expectations, improve how work moves through the facility, and create an operation known for safety, accountability, efficiency, and dependable customer service.

You will lead a 300,000-square-foot distribution facility handling high-dollar utility products and revenue. Your responsibility will span warehouse operations, logistics, inventory, facilities, compliance, people leadership, service performance, and financial results. You will work closely with district leadership, sales, corporate teams, and customers to solve problems and keep the operation moving forward.

What you will do:

• Lead the overall performance of a large, complex distribution operation.
• Prioritize best-in-class logistical processes and collaboration across the branch to achieve operational excellence and superior customer service.
• Develop and empower leaders and frontline team members through coaching, mentorship, and performance management, ensuring strong execution and accountability across the operation.
• Improve safety, productivity, inventory accuracy, service levels, and operational consistency.
• Oversee shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, inventory control, transportation, facilities, and equipment.
• Manage operating expenses, working capital, and operational performance in partnership with district leadership.
• Establish and maintain clear processes while identifying better ways to work.
• Partner with sales and customers to resolve service issues and support business growth.
• Ensure compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and CDL-driver qualifications.
• Develop the leadership team and create a workplace where people understand what is expected and have the support to succeed.

What we are looking for:

• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex challenges effectively.
• Experience leading a large warehouse, distribution center, or complex branch operation.
• A track record of improving safety, service, productivity, cost, or inventory performance.
• Experience leading through supervisors or managers.
• Strong financial and operational judgment.
• The ability to use data to identify problems and turn findings into action.
• A practical, visible leadership style and the ability to work across operations, sales, and support teams.
• Five to seven years of related distribution, logistics, or operations experience.
• Electrical, utility, industrial, or high-value product distribution experience is highly preferred.
