What you will do:

  • Drive Transportation strategy for OneSource Distributors. This includes, but is not limited to, looking at the overall fleet, areas served/delivered, third party logistics, regulatory compliance, and driver safety.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement with the transportation organization and work through a standardized review of KPI’s around performance and safety.  
  • Lead fleet acquisition design and right-sizing for the operating company. Work collaboratively with the SUSA Supply Chain team around fleet design and network efficiency.
  • As part of this the manager will also work through the sustainability aspect (both internal with SUSA and external with regulatory compliance) as it pertains to fleet.
  • Works to harmonize fleet technology throughout the operating company. This includes new technology, telematics and dynamic routing.
  • Oversight of DOT Compliance and regulations.
  • Identifies revenue generation opportunities within the transportation group.  
  • Monitors third party carrier performance as well as Parcel/LTL performance.
  • Lead as well as work as an integral member of the Operations Leadership Team in developing strategic operational plans, department budgets as well as enhance service level, profitability, and efficiency throughout the company operations.
  • Works closely and partners with the VP of Supply Chain on strategic transportation projects.
  • Direct reporting of Fleet Managers, Dispatch, and drivers within the distribution centers.
  • Foster healthy working relationship with department leaders to develop short- and long-term strategies that support growth and customer satisfaction via Transportation.
  • Continually investigate and introduce critical process improvement measures and present suggestions to VP of Supply Chain.
  • Participate with other directors/managers on operational and administrative process improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

What you will bring:

  • Electrical, Industrial and/or distribution experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience in transportation safety, sustainability around fleet, and vehicle leasing negotiations and management.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A or B.S.) from a 4-year college or University in Business Management; Supply Chain / operations preferred
  • 10+ years in a Supply Chain / Operational management role
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Ability to travel locally and nationally when required for meetings, trainings, and consultations.
  • Office work environment. Frequent use of phone, computer, and standard office equipment
  • Exposure to warehouse environment. Hard walking surface, fluctuating temperatures, noise, and automated equipment.

 

Location: This role is based in Oceanside

 

Work hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm

 

Salary Range:

  • This is an exempt position that pays $92,000 - $120,000 annually. This salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, within California. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role.
