Job Summary 

Performs manual and clerical duties related to the shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and delivery of electrical products, materials, equipment, and supplies. 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

  • The loading, unloading, moving and delivery of materials within or near commercial worksites and industrial facilities. 
  • Packages merchandise and prepares materials for shipment by weighing, packaging, and labeling packages with shipping labels. 
  • Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit. 
  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand, maintaining accurate stocking and storing procedures and relocating or rearranging products as needed.  
  • Assist in routing, counting, and inspecting items while unloading and receiving freight deliveries, or shipping returned items.  
  • Attaches inventory tags or labels to materials and marks information on cases, bales, or other containers. 
  • Maintains safety policies and procedures while operating with machinery and equipment within the warehouse. 
  • Determines the method of shipment such as route, shipping rate, and delivery method through use of internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) 
  • Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move and reorganize stocked products.  
  • Make deliveries to customer job sites or sites of business while adhering to all safety procedures.  
  • Drive approximately 40% of the work week and/or on an as needed basis. 
  • Load and unload materials, make deliveries, and return undelivered material to the warehouse. 

 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to provide high-quality customer service.
  • The ability to lift heavy packages and objects, operate a forklift or other industrial machines, and operate machines in tight and congested areas. 

 

Physical Demands & Work Environment 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  
  • Typical work environments include offices, light industrial, commercial, utility, and manufacturing warehouses and job sites.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
