The Business Development Manager – DTSS will be responsible for driving revenue growth, customer acquisition, and market expansion for Rockwell Automation’s Digital Transformation Software portfolio. The role focuses on identifying opportunities, managing key accounts, building sales pipelines, and closing high-value software and solution deals across manufacturing and industrial customers.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Business Development & Sales

  • Drive end-to-end sales for Rockwell Automation’s Digital Transformation Software portfolio including:
    • FactoryTalk Data Mosiax (FTDM –SaaS)
    • FIIX CMMS
    • PLEX MES
    • Logix AI
    • Emulate3D
    • G-Lens (pollution monitoring & CCTV streaming solutions)
  • Identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities across target industries such as FMCG, Metals, Automotive, Pharmaceuticals, and Manufacturing.
  • Build and manage a strong sales funnel through prospecting, customer meetings, demos, webinars, and solution workshops.
  • Own the complete sales cycle from lead generation to order closure, including commercial negotiations and PO conversion.

Account Management & Customer Engagement

  • Manage and grow existing key accounts, ensuring renewals, upselling, and cross-selling of software solutions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers by understanding their business challenges and positioning outcome-driven digital solutions.
  • Coordinate with customers on license renewals, contract extensions, and AMC/support-related discussions.
  • Handle customer escalations and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

Pre-Sales & Solutioning

  • Work closely with Rockwell Automation, internal technical teams, and OEMs to define the right solution architecture.
  • Support pre-sales activities including:
    • Requirement discovery
    • Solution presentations and demos
    • Technical-commercial discussions
    • Proposal and quotation preparation
  • Participate in customer demos, PoCs, and pilot projects as required.

Marketing & Demand Generation

  • Plan and execute marketing initiatives such as webinars, product demos, workshops, and customer events (e.g., FIIX CMMS, Plex MES, Logix AI webinars).
  • Collaborate with regional teams to generate qualified leads and build brand visibility in the region.
  • Track and follow up on marketing-generated leads to ensure conversion.

Stakeholder & Partner Coordination

  • Coordinate with Rockwell Automation sales, technical, and channel teams to align strategies and close opportunities.
  • Work closely with procurement, finance, and operations teams for smooth order processing, invoicing, and renewals.
  • Ensure compliance with Rockwell Automation policies and commercial guidelines.

Reporting & Forecasting

  • Maintain accurate CRM data including pipeline, opportunity status, and revenue forecasts.
  • Provide regular sales reports, funnel updates, and market intelligence to management.
  • Track quarterly and annual targets and ensure achievement of assigned KPIs.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of Industrial Automation Software, Digital Manufacturing, and IIoT solutions.
  • Proven experience in B2B solution selling and consultative sales.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to engage with senior stakeholders such as Plant Heads, Maintenance Heads, IT Heads, and Operations Leaders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Self-driven, target-oriented, and capable of working independently.

 

Qualification & Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation preferred).
  • MBA or equivalent management qualification is an added advantage.
  • 6–10 years of experience in industrial automation, software sales, or digital transformation solutions.
  • Prior experience with Rockwell Automation ecosystem or similar industrial software platforms preferred.

 

 

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

 

  • Revenue and order booking targets (quarterly & annual).
  • Sales funnel value and conversion ratio.
  • Number of new customers acquired.
  • Renewal and expansion revenue.
  • Customer engagement activities (meetings, demos, webinars).

Candidate can work from any Tier-1 City across India, However Gurgaon is Preferred. Candidate need to Travel across Globe as per Requirement.
