How will you shape our tomorrow
As a Data Modeler, you will contribute to the design, maintenance, and evolution of high‑quality data models supporting Sonepar’s global data platform.
You will translate business concepts into clear, structured, and reusable data models, working closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, analytics teams, and architects. By applying established modelling standards and governance rules, you will help ensure data consistency, interoperability, and trust across domains and countries.
You will leverage modern tooling and AI‑assisted capabilities to improve modelling efficiency, documentation quality, and traceability, while ensuring compliance with architectural and governance expectations.
Your work will directly support analytics, reporting, and AI use cases, contributing to reliable data foundations that accelerate decision‑making and business value creation.
What success looks like
Modelling Quality & Standards Adoption
- Data models comply with defined modelling standards, patterns, and architectural principles.
- Conceptual, logical, and physical models are well structured, documented, and maintained.
- Models are designed for reusability, scalability, and performance.
Domain & Business Alignment
- Business concepts are accurately translated into a shared data language.
- Models support analytics, reporting, and AI use cases across domains.
- Modelling decisions consider downstream consumption and data lifecycle needs.
Governance & Documentation
- Metadata, glossary terms, lineage, and documentation are consistently produced and kept up to date using approved tools.
- Quality issues and inconsistencies are proactively identified and addressed.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Effective collaboration with business, data engineering, analytics, and architecture teams.
- Active participation in modelling reviews and shared practices.
- Continuous improvement of modelling skills and domain knowledge.
The experience you bring
Data Modelling Fundamentals
- Solid experience in conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling.
- Good understanding of relational, dimensional, and analytical modelling patterns.
- Ability to design models fit for analytics and data products.
Architecture & Platform Awareness
- Understanding of data architecture principles in modern data platforms.
- Experience working in multi‑domain or federated environments is a plus.
- Awareness of scalability, interoperability, and performance considerations.
Tooling, Metadata & AI Awareness
- Experience using data modelling tools and metadata/catalog solutions (glossary, dictionary, lineage).
- Exposure to AI‑assisted modelling or documentation tools is an advantage.
- Willingness to adopt new tools and practices.
Collaboration & Communication
- Ability to work closely with business and technical stakeholders.
- Clear communication skills to explain data structures and modelling choices.
- Comfortable working in international, cross‑functional environments.

Work Mode & Location- Hybrid: 3 days in Paris (8ème) after the trial period
