The Data Governance domain lead will be part of Data Management team.
You will report to the Head of Data Management.
You will be responsible for the structuration & deployment of the Data Governance Framework for a defined Data domain based on validated Strategic Priorities.
The Data Management team is part of the Group Data Office under Transformation Direction.
Data Management team mission statement is to create a unified and harmonized approach to Data Management to develop Data Value and accelerate the delivery of Data Products.
The Data Management team is composed of Data governance domain leads, Data stewards and Data architect.
The mission of the Data Management team is threefold:
1.To structure and make available data as a cross-functional asset of the Group by controlling its life cycle from the source IS to the Sonepar DataLake
2. Ensure the common language, quality, accessibility, traceability, reusability of data and the capitalization of knowledge (rules, standards, norms, procedures) in coordination with the business and IT teams
3. Oversee the proper application of the privacy and compliance principles
As a member of this team you will interact with:
- The Business domain Managers
- The Product teams within the different business domains of the group data office
- The Business Data Lab team who works for example on profitability or inflation impact analysis
- The Data Platform team
- The business entities and the data relays identified there at group , regional & country levels, in particular the data owner (DO) & Business data stewards.
Job Purpose
- Be the key coordinator of the Finance & Performance network by promoting Data Governance by design best practices.
- Establish a relationship of trust between all the stakeholders and the Data Management team in your domain
- Describe the attributes of functional objects and the associated quality standards and business rules
- Ensure the execution of data governance policies, procedures and standards in your domain in order to control the end-to-end lifecycle of data as a business object, being vigilant to the impacts of related projects
- Provide expertise on data and repositories specific to the domain
- Collaborate with Tech teams to facilitate data integrations
- Coordinate domain-specific data governance committee
- Gather user feedback and improvement requests
- Be the point person for domain specific data quality issues and their proper consideration
RESPONSIBILITIES
More specifically, your responsibilities will include:
Strategy
- Participate in the planning of the data strategy for the domain in conjunction with the Business Data lab Manager and Data Owner
- Collaborate with Data Platform teams to facilitate the anomaly resolution process
- contribute to the enrichment of our Data Governance Framework (Operating model, roles & responsibilities, policies & standards, Service catalog, ...) for Finance & Performance domain, understanding the current pain points and leveraging on her/his previous experience to provide guidance & optimize ways of working.
Business Alignment
- Be the primary point of contact for data within the Finance & Performance domain
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to define a common language, identify and centralize requirements, translate them functionally into data specifications, unified data model , and implement capabilities and processes by capitalizing on existing ones
- Participate if necessary in test campaigns involving domain data
- Coordinate with the Data Management working group to make recommendations to the Data Governance Council and implement Data Governance Council decisions
Description and life cycle
- Define & Describe business objects, their attributes, quality standards and business rules
- Mapping the domain data in a synthetic and self-supporting way
- Ensure the correct understanding of the impact of projects on the data life cycle, by guaranteeing its integrity
- Participate in updating the data glossary and data lineage in conjunction with the data architect
Management
- Help the Data Management team to achieve its objectives
- Manage the data steward team in your domain
- Participate in the rites and rhythms of the Group Data Office and Data Management to enrich your knowledge and, if necessary, to assert the management rules and quality standards or to provide expertise
Monitoring
- Contribute to the design, implementation and animation of the "Data Quality Cockpit" as a device consisting of processes, tools and skills to supervise data quality throughout the data value chain, from the source IS
- Monitor data quality and dashboards in conjunction with the Data Platform Team
- Ensure the continuous improvement of data quality in its domain
- Develop audits and ad hoc analyses
- Identify and manage critical data management issues and risks
You will be a driving force in consolidating and improving the service offering of the data team in general and you will be an active member of the community by participating in its animation.
PROFILE, skills & experience
- You are rigorous, pragmatic, result-oriented and have a collaborative mindset.
- Background in project management with 5 years of experiences in Data Governance & Management
- Ability to solve complex problems with team spirit, drive & leadership skills
- Ability to present information in an insightful and structured manner, both written and oral
- Relevant experience within the domain of finance & performance management is a must
- Experience in Change Management, including communication and culture of change
- Excellent knowledge of Data practices (Data Management, Data Governance, Data Quality)
- Good knowledge of Data Products (Business Intelligence, Data Science, External Data Catalog)
- Fluent in French & English
