With a presence in 40 countries and an extensive network of retail outlets, the Group is undertaking an ambitious transformation to make life easier for its customers by offering them an omnichannel experience and a range of sustainable solutions for the industrial, construction and energy sectors. Our 46,000 employees are committed to the electrification of the world and united by a shared Purpose: “Power Progress for Future Generations.
How will you shape our tomorrow
You will lead delivery across Sonepar’s Data Experience (DX) portfolio, turning strategic priorities into clear, executable, and outcome-focused delivery plans spanning data products, analytics, AI, PDx, platform capabilities, migration, and Operating Company onboarding.
You will establish an end-to-end delivery rhythm from discovery through build, release, adoption, and stabilization. Working closely with Product Owners, Product Managers, architects, engineering leads, data domain leads, platform teams, partners, and business stakeholders, you will ensure that initiatives are sufficiently shaped, feasible, prioritized, staffed, dependency-aware, and ready before teams commit to delivery.
You will provide cross-team visibility and control across roadmaps, backlogs, milestones, capacity, risks, dependencies, quality, budget, and outcomes. You will facilitate timely decisions, remove impediments, manage escalations, and ensure that governance supports delivery rather than creating unnecessary overhead.
You will help mature the DX operating model by embedding predictable delivery practices, transparent metrics, strong ownership, continuous improvement, and a collaborative culture. Your impact will be measured through improved predictability, faster time to value, higher delivery quality, stronger stakeholder confidence, and sustainable adoption across countries and business domains.
What success looks like
Portfolio Planning & Delivery Governance
- A single, transparent delivery view brings together priorities, roadmap, milestones, capacity, commitments, dependencies, risks, decisions, and outcomes across DX streams.
- Discovery and readiness gates ensure that scope, value, data availability, architecture, non-functional requirements, dependencies, acceptance criteria, and delivery ownership are sufficiently clear before commitment.
- Planning and governance cadences are purposeful, decision-oriented, prepared in advance, and supported by reliable information rather than status reporting alone.
- Delivery commitments are realistic, evidence-based, aligned with available capacity, and traceable to business objectives and measurable outcomes.
End-to-End Execution & Predictability
- Initiatives move effectively from discovery and prioritization through build, integration, QA, UAT, release, deployment, hypercare, and transition to run.
- Milestones and critical paths are actively managed, with delivery variance identified early and recovery options made explicit.
- Teams maintain healthy backlogs with clear ownership, appropriate refinement, actionable work items, and visible readiness for upcoming Program Increments or delivery cycles.
Cross-Team Dependencies, Risks & Escalation
- Cross-team dependencies across feature, migration, platform, architecture, governance, integration, security, operations, and OpCo teams are identified, owned, confirmed, and tracked to closure.
- Risks, assumptions, issues, and decisions are documented with owners, due dates, business impact, mitigation actions, and clear escalation paths.
- Vendor and partner delivery is integrated into the overall plan and held to agreed quality, documentation, security, and delivery expectations.
Quality, Release & Operational Readiness
- Quality is built into delivery through clear acceptance criteria, test strategy, data validation, QA, UAT, non-functional requirements, and release controls.
- Production readiness includes monitoring, support model, runbooks, ownership, incident and problem processes, rollback or recovery considerations, and hypercare planning.
- Release and deployment plans are coordinated across affected teams and countries, with communication, change, adoption, and support needs addressed before go-live.
- Technical debt and operational risks are visible, prioritized, and balanced transparently against feature delivery and strategic commitments.
Stakeholder Alignment & Measurable Outcomes
- Business and technology stakeholders have a shared understanding of priorities, scope, progress, decisions, risks, and expected outcomes.
- Executive reporting is concise, factual, action-oriented, and focused on delivery confidence, value, trade-offs, and decisions required.
- Success measures connect delivery outputs to adoption, reliability, data quality, user value, time to market, operational efficiency, and strategic objectives.
The experience you bring
Large-Scale Delivery Leadership
- Extensive experience leading complex data, AI, analytics, digital, cloud, or enterprise transformation delivery across multiple teams, products, countries, and vendors.
- Proven ownership of integrated roadmaps, delivery plans, milestones, capacity, RAID management, governance, and executive reporting.
- A strong record of recovering challenged initiatives, resolving dependencies, and improving delivery predictability without compromising quality.
- Experience balancing strategic programs, product delivery, platform evolution, migration, operational constraints, and technical debt.
Agile, Product & Portfolio Delivery
- Strong command of Agile and product delivery practices, including discovery, backlog management, refinement, estimation, prioritization, Program Increment planning, release planning, and retrospectives.
- Practical experience working with Product Managers, Product Owners, Scrum Masters or team coaches, architects, engineering leads, and business stakeholders.
- Ability to tailor methods pragmatically across product, project, program, and platform contexts rather than applying a single framework mechanically.
- Proficiency with delivery tooling such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, portfolio dashboards, and collaborative planning tools.
Data, AI & Cloud Delivery Understanding
- Sufficient technical fluency to lead delivery across data platforms, data products, analytics, AI and GenAI, APIs, integration, governance, migration, and cloud services.
- Good understanding of the delivery implications of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric, including environments, security, CI/CD, observability, capacity, performance, and operational readiness.
- Awareness of data-specific risks such as source readiness, data quality, modelling, lineage, privacy, access, volume, refresh, reconciliation, and business validation.
- Ability to challenge constructively on architecture, estimates, sequencing, dependencies, non-functional requirements, and readiness without replacing accountable technical leads.
Leadership, Influence & Communication
- Confident leadership across multidisciplinary, international, and matrixed teams, with the ability to influence without relying on formal authority.
- Excellent facilitation and negotiation including conflict resolution, decision framing, executive communication, and difficult stakeholder conversations.
- A pragmatic and resilient mindset combining urgency, empathy, accountability, attention to detail, and focus on measurable business outcomes.
- Professional fluency in English; French or another Sonepar operating language is an advantage.
Qualifications that will help you succeed
- A degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, business, or equivalent professional experience.
