Position Summary

Sonepar is looking for a highly experienced Enterprise Architect – Applications to help define and drive the evolution of the Group application landscape.

This role will be responsible for shaping the target application architecture, rationalizing enterprise platforms, defining architecture standards and governance, and supporting strategic transformation initiatives across Sonepar’s global organization.

The Enterprise Architect will work closely with Business stakeholders, Regional IT organizations, Product teams, Digital leaders, and strategic technology partners to ensure that business applications are scalable, integrated, secure, and aligned with Sonepar’s long-term business and technology strategy.

This is a highly visible global role requiring a strong combination of strategic thinking, enterprise architecture expertise, stakeholder management, and execution capabilities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Enterprise Application Architecture
  • Define and maintain the target enterprise application architecture aligned with Sonepar’s strategic priorities.
  • Drive the modernization and simplification of the global application landscape.
  • Establish architecture principles, standards, reference architectures, and technology roadmaps.
  • Ensure alignment across ERP, PIM, OMS, CPQ, WMS, TMS, CRM, Pricing, eCommerce, Digital Workplace, AI, and other enterprise platforms.
  • Lead application rationalization initiatives to reduce complexity, technical debt, and duplication.
  • Define integration patterns and interoperability standards in collaboration with Integration and Data architecture teams.
  1. Transformation & Strategic Programs
  • Support major business transformation programs and strategic initiatives.
  • Assess business requirements and translate them into scalable enterprise solutions.
  • Participate in solution evaluations, RFPs, vendor assessments, and technology selection processes.
  • Ensure that new solutions fit within the target enterprise architecture and operating model.
  • Contribute to M&A integration and application harmonization activities when required.
  1. Architecture Governance
  • Establish and operate architecture governance processes across global and regional initiatives.
  • Review and validate solution architectures for compliance with enterprise standards.
  • Drive architectural consistency, reusability, and standardization across the organization.
  • Ensure alignment with security, compliance, data governance, and operational requirements.
  • Define and monitor architecture KPIs and technical health indicators.
  1. Collaboration & Leadership
  • Partner closely with Business stakeholders and IT leadership teams across countries and functions.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering teams, Infrastructure, Security, and Data organizations.
  • Influence senior stakeholders and provide architectural guidance on strategic decisions.
  • Mentor solution architects and contribute to the development of the enterprise architecture community.
  • Promote modern architecture practices, innovation, and continuous improvement.

 

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, or large-scale Application Architecture roles.
  • Strong experience with complex enterprise environments and global transformation programs.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise business applications and business processes.
  • Experience across domains such as ERP, Supply Chain, Commerce, Pricing, Product Information Management, Integration, and Data Platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of modern architecture patterns including API-led architecture, event-driven architecture, cloud-native platforms, SaaS ecosystems, and microservices.
  • Experience with enterprise integration platforms and middleware technologies.
  • Strong understanding of application lifecycle management, governance, and technology standardization.
  • Experience working in multinational and matrix organizations.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic vision with pragmatic execution.
  • Fluent in English.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in B2B distribution, retail, industrial, manufacturing, or supply chain-intensive industries.
  • Familiarity with modern commerce and omnichannel ecosystems.
  • Experience with AI-enabled business capabilities and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Knowledge of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF.
  • Experience with major enterprise platforms such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, Adobe, ServiceNow, or similar ecosystems.

Work Mode & Location

- Hybrid: 3 days in Paris (8ème) after the trial period
