How will you shape our tomorrow
The Fabric Technical Lead owns the architecture, engineering standards, and operational excellence of the enterprise's Microsoft Fabric platform. This role is accountable for technical correctness, scalability, cost control, and delivery of quality across all Fabric workloads: batch, streaming, BI, and AI.
This is a hands-on leadership role. The Tech Lead writes code, reviews code, sets patterns, and prevents poor design choices while enforcing engineering rigor.
What success looks like
- Delivering a robust, scalable, and secure data platform on Microsoft Fabric that supports analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives across the organization.
- Establishing clear technical standards, best practices, and governance for data engineering, ensuring consistency and high-quality data delivery.
- Enabling business teams with timely, accurate, and actionable insights by streamlining data pipelines and optimizing performance.
- Leading and mentoring the data engineering team to foster innovation, continuous learning, and cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders from IT and business domains.
- Reducing platform incidents, minimizing costs, and improving performance through strong architecture ownership and operational excellence.
Your Responsibilities:
Platform Architecture & Ownership
- Operate the end-to-end Microsoft Fabric architecture (OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, RTI, Power BI).
- Enforce architectural decisions: medallion patterns, domain isolation, workload separation.
- Owns platform non-functionals: scalability, reliability, security, and cost.
- Manage lifecycle of Fabric assets: versioning, retirement, documentation, and lineage.
Engineering Standards & Governance
- Enforce engineering standards:
- Data modeling conventions
- Naming, partitioning, and performance patterns
- CI/CD and Git branching strategies for Fabric
- Oversees data governance integration (Purview, RBAC, sensitivity labels).
- Define quality gates for data, pipelines, and AI workloads.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR, internal security controls, and regulatory frameworks.
- Promote automation, testing standards, observability and reliability, best practices.
Delivery Leadership
- Lead technical execution across multiple domains or teams.
- Review designs, code, and pull requests.
- Unblock teams on complex technical issues.
- Ensure production readiness before go-live.
Real-Time & Advanced Workloads
- Oversee Real-Time Intelligence (RTI) workloads using KQL.
- Define patterns for event ingestion.
AI & Advanced Analytics
- Oversee standards for ML and GenAI on Fabric:
- Feature engineering
- Inference pipelines
- RAG architectures etc
- Ensure AI workloads are observable, auditable, and cost-controlled.
- Block experimental AI from entering production without hard criteria.
Platform Operations & FinOps
- Monitor Fabric capacity strategy (SKU selection, workload isolation, scaling).
- Monitor performance, failures, and capacity consumption.
- Drive cost optimization and prevent uncontrolled usage.
- Define SLAs and operational runbooks.
- Lead incident response, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement cycles.
- Maintain SLOs, dashboards, and proactive monitoring of platform health.
Technical Leadership
- Mentor senior and mid-level engineers.
- Represent Fabric platform in architecture meetings.
The experience you bring
- Strong experience in Microsoft Fabric (Mandatory)

- Fabric Lakehouse, OneLake, Warehouse, & notebooks

- Data Pipelines & Semantic models
- Strong understanding of Fabric internals and capacity behavior.
- Real-Time & Streaming

- Fabric Real-Time Intelligence (KQL).
- Azure Event Hubs / and other integrations.
- Streaming design patterns and failure modes.
- Knowledge of event-time vs. processing-time semantics and recovery patterns.
- AI / ML

- Production experience with ML workloads.
- Azure Machine Learning integration.
- Azure OpenAI (LLMs, RAG, embeddings).
- Model lifecycle management and monitoring.
- Experience with MLOps, monitoring, reproducibility, and responsible AI principles.
- Excellent engineering and operations skills and experience

- GitHub-based CI/CD for Fabric.
- Infrastructure-as-code mindset (even where Fabric abstracts infra).
- Monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
- Strong Python/Spark/SQL foundations for operational and analytical workloads.
- At least 8+ years’ experience in data/platform engineering.
- Prior experience as Tech Lead, Principal Engineer.
- Proven ownership of production data platforms at enterprise scale.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in other languages spoken in the EMEA region is a plus.
Work Mode & Location
- Hybrid: 3 days in Paris (8ème) and 16ème after the probation period
