Mission/responsibility
As a Product Owner, you will coordinate the assigned team with the goal to provide Sonepar Associates with the needed information and capabilities required for their daily tasks. You will translate product roadmap features into well-defined product requirements including features, user stories, and acceptance test criteria. Working under the agile framework, you will prioritize and maintains the sprint backlog for the assigned product domain, balancing the requirements of stakeholders, and you will collaborate with several entities, including architects, developers, testers and UX-UI designers, also from other teams.
You will help the Scrum Master of the team to manage the product development team as a leader, increasing its efficiency and providing motivation and guidance for process improvement.
Your workspace? A digital factory bustling with over 300 top-tier professionals all over the world, from different companies, you’ll directly report to our Lead Director of the Spark Associate domain.
What success looks like
Backlog management and prioritization
- Ability to translate and split business features into user stories (requirements),
- Ability to analyze user stories to understand all potential impacts, anticipating also performance and UX/UI concern
- Responsible of user stories stock that are ready for development (DOR: definition of ready).
- Ability to understand & formalize business & IT processes into specific deliverables,
- Ability to prioritize user stories and to communicate clearly these priorities and related tasks to the members of the assigned feature team
- Ability to validate what developed by the feature team and to engage with Quality Engineer (QE) profiles – both functional and automation - to guarantee that they properly test what built by developers
Knowledge of the current system capabilities
- Ability to propose solutions to deliver features with minimum development/effort,
- Ability to assess complexity of development during the refinement of user story
- Ability to discuss technical details with architects
- Ability to translate a vision into specific deliverables.
Refinement
- Ensure backlog remain a tool and not a burden
- Help Product Managers to organize features, split them into user stories, and ensure a complete description of the solution.
- Refine continuously the backlog of user stories
- Prioritize the activities with Product Manager,
- Write proper acceptance criteria to guide validation tests and foster QA automation scripting
Expertise in the Business domain
- Understand & know the specific business domain
- Ability to share the understanding of the business domain impacted,
- Identify who are the stakeholders impacted and involved in the effort,
- Ability to know the policies and rules that guide business behaviors,
- Critical thinking to challenge process / rules / policy,
- Ability to understand UX/UI front guidelines.
The experience you bring
- At least 8 years of experience as a Product Owner of an Agile feature team, preferably in a multinational project with several Agile teams working mainly on remote
- Previous experience in implementing a CRM platform based on Microsoft Dynamics in a multinational environment, managing developers, quality engineers and profiles from different locations and companies
- (Nice to have) Previous experience in projects related to Marketing Automation functional domain, preferably in a retail company
- (Nice to have) Previous experience in projects applying SAFE methodology, in particular working in Program Increment and Sprint timeframe
- Important soft-skills capabilities:
- resiliency,
- ownership of assigned activities,
- leadership attitude and “can do” mindset, as the profile needs to manage/coordinate a team of around 10 profiles from different partners, mainly working on remote
- negotiation skills, for discussing with business stakeholders about delivery priorities and for finding compromises
- precision and proper attention to details
- passion for what the team aims to accomplish,
- transparency and proactive mindset
- communication skills and ability to engage with stakeholders at different levels, from members of the assigned team to members of other agile teams, architects, QE profiles, Product managers, management
Work Mode & Location
- Hybrid: 3 days in Paris (8ème) after the trial period
