We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance intern who will be responsible for performing various tasks to gain exposure to the Finance department of SUSA. As an intern, you will rotate through the FP&A, Finance and Accounting, and Income and Sales Tax functions. You will gain experience with financial statement review, data input and analysis, and financial modeling.
The 10-week internship program (May 27th - August 1st). The role is based at our Philadelphia office.
We invite applications from rising Sophomores or Juniors currently enrolled at a four-year university majoring in Finance or Accounting.
What You Will Do:
- Assist in data collection and analysis to identify process improvement opportunities
- Assist in the preparation of month-end financial reporting for SMG staffing expense, general expense, and headcount, including budget and forecast to actual variance analysis.
- Support the SMG budgeting and forecasting processes by streamlining and managing templates and aggregating data.
- Assist the FP&A team with a variety of special projects including, but not limited to, reporting, financial analysis, data validation, and process re-design
- Support Sales Tax by pulling and indexing returns, reviewing past-due notices, and assisting with data migration.
- Capstone Project: You will be responsible for preparing the F2 for 1 department, driving financial modeling, validating assumptions/inputs, and quantifying risks/opportunities for leadership with a final presentation to the CFO and Controller at the end of the internship.
What You Bring:
- Currently enrolled at a 4-year university as a rising sophomore or junior majoring in Finance or Accounting
- GPA: 3.2 or higher
Preferred Skills
- Advanced skills with Excel and Power BI
- Fast learner with the ability to implement and streamline reporting from various data sources
- Problem solver with advanced analytical skills
- Results-oriented, ambitious, and organized, with great attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cooperatively with team members across various functions and with operating businesses
