Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Project Department Manager to lead and oversee complex projects from initiation through completion. This leadership role requires strong communication, strategic planning, and team coordination skills to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with company goals. The ideal candidate will have experience managing logistics, vendor relationships, and cross-functional teams, with a focus on continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead project planning sessions, define project scope, goals, and deliverables, and develop detailed project plans.
- Oversee and coordinate all phases of project execution, including procurement, scheduling, logistics, and customer communication.
- Supervise and mentor project coordinators and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
- Resolve customer issues, shipping discrepancies, and material defects with professionalism and urgency.
- Manage and optimize shipping schedules and warehouse logistics to support project timelines.
- Maintain accurate records in the Job Management System, including order entry, bid tracking, and material procurement.
- Support company initiatives and contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency.
What You’ll Bring:
- 2+ years of experience in project management, preferably in logistics, construction, or supply chain environments.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results under pressure.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a customer-first mindset.
- Proficiency in preparing quotations, conducting take-offs, and managing vendor pricing systems.
- Experience with job management systems and procurement platforms.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
- Comfortable using the internet and manufacturer websites for technical product research and submittals.
- Experience in warehouse logistics and shipping schedule creation.
- Familiarity with lighting and gear orders is a plus.
- Demonstrated success in managing vendor and customer relationships.
