What you will do

• Scheduling and Routing: Develop and assign routes and loads to drivers, maximizing efficiency and ensuring time commitments to the customers are met.
• Communication: Acting as the primary point of contact between drivers, sales, and warehouse staff to provide updates.
• Tracking and Tracing: Monitoring vehicle locations using GPS and providing real-time updates on freight status.
• Problem Resolution: Proactively addressing issues like traffic congestion, vehicle breakdowns, or route disruptions.
• Compliance: Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, including tracking driver hours of service (HOS) and TrueNorth documentation.
• Training/coaching: Help ensure timely completion of all required company training. Monitor Samsara dashboard for event notifications and present findings to department leadership for coaching.
• Documentation: Generating bills of lading, freight bills, and maintaining detailed records of deliveries.
• Other job duties, as assigned

What you will bring

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in logistics management software (Innovo), GPS tracking (Samsara), Enterprise software (Eclipse) and Microsoft Office.
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills for managing constant, high-pressure communication.
• Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple drivers, vehicles, and sales inquiries simultaneously.
• Local area knowledge: Strong knowledge of the roadways throughout the immediate area
• Education/Experience: High school diploma required; experience in transportation or dispatching is preferred.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

• Occasional lifting and pulling objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Office and Warehouse environment

Location: This role is based in San Leandro, CA

Work hours:

• 12:00pm – 8:30pm
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes occasional evenings, weekends and holidays.

Salary Range:

This is a non-exempt position and pays between $21.35 - $25.35 per hour. This salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, within California. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role.
