Scope of the Position
The Account Manager is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to their assigned accounts as well as prospecting and developing new business. They will identify opportunities at each account to maximize sales and profit potential. They will introduce new products and provide technical advice to customers to ensure the best solutions are found for their electrical requirements.
Major Responsibilities
- Perform regular and scheduled calls on assigned accounts.
- Provide assistance and technical support to customers as required.
- Promote Robertson Electric by ensuring each account receives a Robertson Line Card as well as up-to-date information on the company and the manufacturers we represent.
- Promote our Suppliers to our customers.
- Attend scheduled sales meetings.
- Attend manufacturers training when provided. This may be after business hours on some occasions
- Represent Robertson Electric at industry organizations and functions
- Ensure accurate and timely communications with Sales Manager, Inside Sales and Quotations staff to ensure orders are entered accurately and delivered when required
- Set prospecting targets per month in your territory in conjunction with Management
- Work closely with the credit department in the collection of accounts receivable
- Keep abreast of new products and pricing trends in the market.
- Perform special projects as required.
Skills and Qualifications
- 1-3 years’ experience working in the electrical industry
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ sales experience
- Responsible and reliable
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Willing to help others and learn new skills
- Must be able to work independently or as part of a team as required
- Familiar with MS Office and basic computer functionality
