Scope of Position:

Work collaboratively with and as directed by the Purchasing team to obtain and consolidate pricing and delivery information, enter and maintain purchase orders, obtain technical clarifIcations, and provide assistanceto Sales as they develop their sales proposals.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Research and sourcing of materials
  • Submitting price & delivery requests to manufacturers as directed
  • Assisting Buyers with the preparation of landed cost sheets as required by Sales
  • Review of vendor acknowledgements and updating of delivery status
  • PO adjustments for metals  Assisting Buyers with purchase order entry and maintenance
  • Obtain & distribute technical documentation as required
  • Expediting orders
  • Must be extremely detail oriented with strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Must be very customer service focused to support our internal customers
  • Continuously develop product & technical knowledge to assist Sales with proper selection/use of products and authoritatively communicate their features& benefits
  • Attend, prepare for, and actively participate in required meetings and training sessions
  • Proactively develop and grow by embracing training through internal company online training portal or other
  • Must become an expert on all existing and future digital tools/platforms/solutions made available by the Company
  • Learn and adhere to Company policies and ISO procedures to maintain high quality, consistent service and prevent compliance issues
  • Represent the Company positively through professional engagement with Suppliers and contribute to a positive work environment through respect and mutual cooperation with coworkers and between departments.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and sensitive business information and keep the Company’s best interests in mind while performaning job duties
  • Participate in Company annual physical inventory count
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Experience and Qualifications:

  • High school Diploma Required
  • Post Secondary peferred
  • Business education background preferred
  • Proficiency in Window OS and MS Office software required, particularly Excel & Outlook.
  • Industry experience and/or experience in a simliar job an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize duties, multitask, and perform accurately, efficiently and effectibvely in a high-paced work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully employ interpersonal skills to develop strong working relationsips and resolve conflicts.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $64,000 per annum

Please note that, whilst not expected, the company may pay at a rate outside of the range for this role where appropriate. Actual compensation commensurate with the candidate’s experience, education, internal parity, role complexity, role level, and other relevant factors. The advertised salary range relates to British Columbia and is provided in accordance with the BC Pay Transparency Act. We recognize however that salaries are often driven by market forces in the local area where a candidate is based and accordingly the salary range may not apply outside of British Columbia
