Main purpose of the job

 

The primary role of the Pricing Manager is to develop, manage and evaluate the effectiveness of the company’s pricing strategies and tactics. The individual is responsible for forecasting the volume and profit impact of these pricing strategies and to provide pricing recommendations that will maintain and/or grow volume trends while continually seeking increased company margin and profitability. The position is to manage the rebate process with vendors focusing on timeliness, accuracy, efficiency, and profitability. 

 

Key Accountabilities: 

 

Leadership and Pricing Strategy

  • Develop strategic action plan to construct and implement industry-leading pricing and revenue management system. Participate as a member of the Pricing/Purchasing management team in establishing the strategic direction for the company as it relates to pricing.
  • Provide clear and specific expectations to direct reports; set mutually agreed goals annually for each team member through an interactive process and align with the pricing strategy.
  • Provide analysis and support to sales management in modeling revenue and margin opportunities or assessing the profitability of specific customer accounts.

 

Continuous Improvement/Process Implementation

  • Develop a pricing model to increase company profit and margin while maintaining and/or increasing sales volume. Use internal and external resources to gather market date pertaining to competitive pricing, wholesale and retail margins. Evaluate market conditions and competitive pricing to determine appropriate levels for company products.
  • Develop annual pricing and discounting budgets and monitor spending against those budgets. Interface with department heads to develop long-term price forecasting and analysis. Perform other related duties as required or directed by manager.
  • Develop pricing guidelines, support, and training to sales representatives, ensuring they can effectively communicate value and handle customer objections related to price.

 

Internal/External Engagement

  • Manages the overall rebate process with World sales, vendors, and Sonepar Shared Services.  Builds and maintains the necessary relationships with World sales and vendors to support the timely and profitable execution of the rebate process.

 

Education and/or Experience: 

  • 5+ years related experience with a proven track record of performance in the rebate process, or equivalent related experience.
  • Demonstrated history for delivering positive results in working across functions and with vendors.
  • Prior pricing/rebate experience and knowledge of our inventory database is preferred.
  • Previous experience with Eclipse ERP system is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, required.

 

Requirements: 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present data for decision-making purposes.
  • Inquisitive and progressive – able to adapt and drive change.
  • Strong aptitude for analytics, forecasting and developing models.
  • Drives performance and results.
  • Demonstrated self-motivated organizational skills with the ability to efficiently manage multiple projects and tasks while building positive relationships will associates at all levels in all areas of the business.
  • Detail orientated strong analytical and investigation skills, being able to draw conclusions from research.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office products and ERP systems
  • Acts with integrity.
  • Ability to work productively with a great deal of independence and autonomy.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong collaborative relationships with internal customers, external customers and vendor partners.
  • Travel required a minimum of 25% based on business needs.
  • Understanding of the electrical wholesaling industry would be a plus, along with strong business financial skills.
