Job Title: HR Manager
Location: Upper Marlboro, MD

Job Summary
Human Resources provides leadership in shaping an equitable and inclusive culture that drives diversity, excellence, and innovation by supporting talent, engagement, and the culture of the organization.
The HR Manager role plays a vital part to contribute to the success of our company by supporting people strategy initiatives as well as guide and administer HR services, policies, and programs to ensure an exceptional associate experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide guidance to associates and managers on interpretations of company policies and programs
- Assist with associate performance, development & succession planning initiatives
- Enforce compliance and company policies to minimize risk
- Assist in managing legal issues and employment matters
- Manage STEP program (1-year training program for recent college grads)
- Champion diversity and inclusion initiatives
- Be point of contact for Associates and HR liaison for Managers company wide
- Work with the hiring managers and staff to be aligned with current and applicable job descriptions and job profiles that reflect consistent job requirements and qualifications of each position.
- Proactively manage the candidate and new hire experience
- Partner with Sonepar USA and manage all aspects of the Applicant Tracking System to include training of new leaders utilizing the system
- Conduct and/or facilitate training on HR-related topics such as performance management, leadership, interviewing, HR policies, etc.
- Help ensure that locations are compliant with federal, state, and local regulations when implementing the application of HR practices
- Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations and document findings as required by the Company
- Conduct terminating employees offboarding and exit interviews, coordinating efforts with direct manager/supervisor and Director of Human Resources
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human resources or Business-related field.
- 5+ years HR Generalist experience.
- Familiarity with applicant tracking system
- Familiarity with Human Capital Management Systems (SuccessFactors, DayForce).
- HCI – PHR / SHRM – PC credential preferred.
