The President for Capital Electric provides strategic direction for the business, has full P+L responsibility, creates and implements strategic operating plans and holds the organization accountable for results. Responsible for building and sustaining strong relationships with customers and vendors, with a focus on nurturing and developing organizational talent as well as associate engagement and morale to foster a culture of inclusion. The President demonstrates, champions, and develops the key competencies of the Sonepar Leadership Model. In full partnership, the President is able to balance Sonepar and Capital Electric priorities for mutual success. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and execute customer-centric business strategy for Capital Electric, leveraging the team. 
  • Produce and drive a multi-year strategic plan focused on key initiatives which may be global, regional, and local. 
  • Execute short-term tactical actions which support the strategy.  
  • Drive commercial excellence. 
  • Anticipate and innovate around customer needs to sustain excellent customer relationships that contribute to business growth. 
  • Champion customer segmentation and drive digital sales, with a specific focus on developing a salesforce of the future.
  • Lead, manage and develop the Capital Electric team; champion Sonepar’s leadership model; role model these behaviors and develop them across Capital Electric to ensure a robust talent pipeline and to build a strong and high performing team. 
  • Inspire and energize the team. 
  • Create a culture of performance accountability for results. 
  • Communicate effectively and often, to engage and align the team on achievement.
  • Operationalize the business strategy to deliver results which are profitable, sustainable, and compliant. 
  • Create and optimize effective supply chain processes and practices focused on continuous improvement that are customer-enabling.



Minimum experience requirements:

10 or more years’ experience at a leadership level and demonstration of impactful results related to managing a P+L, operational excellence, and profitable growth.



  • Experience and hyper focus on customer success—anticipating, understanding, and delivering on customer needs.
  • Demonstrated results in building and sustaining performance in omnichannel and overall digital selling environments—a digital champion and visionary. 
  • Strong track record of acquiring, developing and empowering leader-level talent.
  • Experience leading through transformation and change and applying change management principles.
  • High emotional intelligence.
  • Strategic visioning, inspirational leadership, and change agility.
  • Proven ability to interact effectively at all levels within and across the organization, including senior management.
  • Leadership courage and resilience.
  • Ability to drive performance accountability with teams.
  • Ability to manage costs and create operational efficiencies.
  • Integrity.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.  Open-minded.
  • Demonstrated ability to report complex analysis and conclusions in easy-to-understand written reports and oral presentations.
  • Proficient use of Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
