Job Summary

As a Commercial Marketing Specialist, you will support developing and implementing various commercial marketing initiatives to drive increased exposure for Irby Utilities. This position will assist with analyzing, reporting, and building business reviews and proposals for key customers and prospects, creating and optimizing content to support commercial growth opportunities, and conducting market research to identify trends and opportunities. The Commercial Marketing Specialist will work closely with the commercial marketing team and strategic marketing and media team to ensure cohesive messaging, prioritization, and acceleration of growth initiatives with the marketing team and cross-functionally to ensure the company's marketing efforts align with overall business objectives.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research to understand consumer behavior, industry trends, and competitive analysis and leverage insights to improve commercial marketing messages and strategies.
  • Directly support and manage small, medium, and large RFP contract proposals, attend pre-bid meetings, post-bid review, and support new contract implementations. Engage all appropriate parties in support of contract proposal process.
  • Support activities initiated or managed by the strategic relations team on new and existing business opportunities to drive a solution focused mindset, while ensuring we are leveraging vendor relationships, capabilities, and utility industry market intelligence as part of our proposal submittal process.
  • Collaborate with commercial, operations, business advancement, IT, and finance teams to understand, document, and present business solutions in a concise message via multiple mediums for consumption
  • Build, develop, and manage commercial content for support of ongoing and future response requirements
  • Ensure all proposals meet corporate guidelines in communication with Irby leadership team.
  • Support the development, construction, and delivery of customer specific business reviews based on established KPIs
  • Analyze and document commercial operating procedures to aid in sales performance optimization
  • Collaborate with commercial team to identify opportunities to bundle, kit or service contract differently to assist with maximizing Irby and end-user shareholder value.
  • Work with Commercial Leadership on devising customer and vendor strategies aimed at improving commercial productivity focused on process standardization, digital tool adoption, sales reporting (pipeline, performance), messaging, and adoption.
  • Analyze the performance of commercial marketing initiatives and recommend changes to maximize results.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of messaging across all commercial materials including proposals, sales presentations, and business reviews, in alignment with approved corporate messaging and brand standards.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to distill complex or technical information into clear, audience-appropriate written content.
  • Familiarity with content development processes, scheduling, and management
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and create reports
  • Self-starter, ability to work autonomously and collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Proclivity for executing research using multiple data sources and extracting information in formulation of commercial messaging
  • Must be strategic, display strong attention to detail, demonstrate good communication skills, and have exceptional organization.
  • Strong understanding of marketing strategy and how to effortlessly utilize these concepts.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Marketing, Communications, English/Journalism or related field or two (2) years related experience and/or training.
