Sonepar is seeking a Construction Project Manager to support construction projects across our nationwide portfolio of distribution centers, warehouses, branch locations, and office facilities.

This is not a traditional project management role. We are seeking a construction professional who can serve as Sonepar's internal construction expert and owner's representative for tenant improvements, facility renovations, relocations, and build-to-suit projects. Success in this role requires strong commercial or industrial construction knowledge, including the ability to review drawings, collaborate with architects and contractors, identify issues before construction begins, and guide projects from planning through completion.

**National scope with approximately 30-40% travel.
**Excellent opportunity for professionals with commercial, industrial, distribution center, warehouse, or tenant improvement construction experience.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with business leaders, landlords, architects, engineers, and contractors to plan and execute facility projects across the United States.
  • Manage construction projects including tenant improvements, facility upgrades, relocations, reconfigurations, and build-to-suit developments.
  • Review blueprints, drawings, specifications, and facility layouts to identify potential issues before construction begins.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, vendor performance, and overall project execution.
  • Obtain contractor proposals, evaluate bids, and support contract administration activities.
  • Serve as an owner's representative, ensuring operational requirements are incorporated into project designs and construction plans.
  • Provide regular project updates and communicate risks, opportunities, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Develop and improve internal processes related to facility documentation, move-in inspections, property condition assessments, and lease documentation.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Experience managing commercial or industrial construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, permitting, building requirements, and project execution.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications.
  • Experience coordinating contractors, vendors, consultants, and business stakeholders.
  • Strong project budgeting, scheduling, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Commercial real estate or tenant improvement construction experience.
  • Experience serving as an Owner's Representative, Construction Manager, Commercial Construction PM, or similar role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar construction and project management tools.
  • Professional certifications such as CCM, CAC, or CPC are a plus.
