Job Summary

The Inside Sales Supervisor monitors sales metrics and assist in overseeing the entire sales administration process for the Gas Services business. This role will collaborate with various sales professionals and operations staff, leveraging excellent communication skills and business acumen to foster teamwork and grow profitability. The Inside Sales Supervisor further advances the performance of his/her team to overcome challenges and achieve specific goals.   

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead sales team in all aspects of work, elevating their individual abilities and performance to best serve respective customers and the business at large.
  • Evaluate, develop, and train new employees and review progress of subordinates periodically with Branch or District Manager.
  • Problem-solve with customers and coworkers with diplomacy and seek assistance when needed.
  • Work with Branch Leadership to establish goals and objectives for assigned area to meet overall department goals; develop and implement new and revised methods or procedures to improve efficiency and help achieve goals.
  • Resolve customer order problems and complaints promptly. Review complaints concerning billing or products sold, referring complaints to designated departments for investigation and resolution.
  • Determine the make, type, and quality of merchandise desired by being familiar with products sold in the department by use, vendor, location in warehouse, catalog and catalog number, other reference materials, and special selling points.
  • Identify and utilize appropriate company and/or customer pricing systems.
  • Establish or improve relationships with customers to better understand sales territory, schedule and customer needs by phone and customer visits.
  • Communicate with customers by phone or in person to receive orders for products. Call regular and prospective customers to solicit orders. Back up counter personnel on a needed basis.
  • Describe and/or demonstrate product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
  • Solicit sale of new or additional products. Sell and promote branch and company -wide promotions and specials as directed.
  • Partner with outside sales representatives and management on sales strategy, target account development, and any other customer related issues.
  • Provide verbal and written quotations or estimates of prices, terms, and delivery for standard, complex or non-standard merchandise.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated experience as an Inside Sales Representative.
  • Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Thorough knowledge of the sales administration process.
  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to identify issues and implement practical solutions.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • College degree in Sales, Business Administration, or a related field, plus two to four years of relevant experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
