Scope of the Position:
Responsible for leading the sales function and Branch Managers within specified region and achieving determined annual sales and margin objectives, while achieving bottom line profitability. Managing and encouraging optimal performance of all direct reports, including training.
Major Responsibilities:
Promote and embody the Vision, Mission and Values of the Company
• Assist with the development and implementation of strategic sales and branch budget plans to accommodate corporate goals.
• Translate strategic direction into specific objectives for sales channels and alliances.
• Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly.
• Advise dealers, distributors, and clients concerning sales techniques.
• Review and oversee assigned sales territories for Branch Managers and Sales Representatives
• Assist with the product simplification and standardization process in order to eliminate unprofitable items from sales line.
• Represent the Company at trade association meetings to promote the Company.
• Deliver sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
• Meet with key clients, assist sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
• Prepare periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
• Aid with revenue projections, reporting, budgeting and forecasting for assigned region
• Review the branch results vs. objectives and take steps to ensure appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results
• Manage branch resources within target productivity and efficiency benchmarks
• Resolve day to day personnel issues where management decisions are required.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required.
- College/University Degree/Diploma required (Business related, preferred).
- Courses in Sales/Marketing an asset.
- Industry knowledge/experience required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
- Minimum 7-10 years of related experience within distribution
- Minimum 3-5 years previous management experience
