Scope of the Position

The receiver is responsible for receiving vendor products into the warehouse and picking backorders from received materials. They unload shipments regularly and inspect incoming shipments to verify contents and quantity. They are also responsible for any assigned housekeeping tasks and for carrying out any other duties assigned to them by the Receiving Supervisor.

Major Responsibilities

• Verify and receive shipments according to the PO and track shipments as per company’s standard operating procedures.
• Enter and review all receiving activities in the system accurately and proficiently to ensure integrity in inventory data flow.
• Responsible for laying out the warehouse to effectively use warehouse racking and ensure all products are organized on the racks in an efficient and effective manner.
• Document and communicate all issues and discrepancies with direct supervisor.
• Packing, wrapping and labeling products onto skids.
• Moving stock throughout the warehouse using a Reach Truck, if employee holds a valid license.
• Inspect product to ensure that it is the proper content, quality, and quantity needed.
• Oversee the secure and accurate unloading of deliveries.
• Prepare receiving dock to accept incoming products.
• New duties may be added to this description, with proper explanation, at any time.

Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum one year of Warehouse experience
• Basic math skills and math reasoning
• Must be willing to be Forklift trained
